Five things you should know before traveling to Los Angeles
The city of stars is surrounded by myths and legends. We review its most popular stereotypes and tell you how to fully enjoy the city of cinema.
RENTING A CAR IS GOOD IDEA BUT … CAREFUL WITH THE JAMS AND RULES
Although the city is making efforts to expand the public transport network, the truth is that the easiest way to get around in Los Angeles is to rent a car. Avoid the biggest traffic jams between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, if possible. If you opt for the car, remember that at the red traffic lights you can turn right if other vehicles do not come (California law). And read the parking signs a thousand times to avoid fines that will haunt you until the end of your days.
IF IT IS SUMMER AND IT IS GOOD TIME, AVOID SANTA MÓNICA
In your visit to Los Angeles you cannot miss a walk along the famous Santa Monica pier, which we have seen so many times. However, this area can become a real nightmare of traffic (both cars and pedestrians) during weekends. If you want a good beach, explore “a little further.” If you travel alone, looking for Los Angeles escorts would be a good option.
IT IS DIFFICULT TO BET A “STAR”
Many are those who expect to meet celebrities on the street, but this is difficult. You may be lucky and bump into someone. If you see a red carpet, do not hesitate to approach one of the fences and make a hole. But do not expect to have the same fate that the Street had once upon encountering Brad Pitt on a motorcycle.
THE FAMOUS DO NOT BUY IN RODEO DRIVE
Rodeo Drive is one of the most popular areas of Beverly Hills, packed with couture shops. Many expect to find famous shopping in this neighborhood, but the truth is that the stars avoid tourists. What they do is send their stylists to make purchases for them. There are other destinations in Los Angeles that are worthwhile and where parking is much easier. One of the shopping centers (where you can run into a familiar face) is The Grove. A new area that you will find near Venice is Runway Playa Vista, where dozens of restaurants that dare to explore with all kinds of flavors are beginning to open. You will find the best burgers in Hopdoddy Burger, organic food in Urban Plates and cinemas with XD experience (3D and 2D and 60 speakers scattered around the room).
THE “WALK OF FAME” IS NOT JUST A STREET: EXPANDS THROUGHOUT HOLLYWOOD
The famous walk of the stars, “Paseo de la Fama”, is not a street full of stars and that’s it. The walk extends through several streets in the city of Hollywood. And, no, Hollywood is not the neighborhood where the stars live. Another point to keep in mind is that you will not find the footprints of celebrities in these stars. These pieces are preserved in the Grauman Chinese Theater, next to the famous Dolby Theater.
There are still plenty of things to do in Los Angeles, but what has been explained above is a good start.
